![]() Codec Frequencies & Guide - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Wiki Guide. The radio is the codec used in all the great Metal Gear Solid games. The codec is one of the most important pieces of equipment that Snake has at his disposal. You use it for a great many things. I will go over everything it is used for and some different frequncies in this section. There are always four to five people saved in your codec at all times. These contacts are on the bottom touch screen below the send, and change frequency buttons. These contact buttons are setup in a row of two on top and a row of two on bottom. Each contact has a picture of the person on the other end of the frequency on the left of the button.
